Can Melamine Tableware Be Boiled With Water?

Apr 28, 2022

1. Accept qualified melamine tableware. In the standard of melamine tableware, there is an inspection requirement for "moisture-proof and heat-resistant" melamine tableware, that is, put the melamine tableware in boiling water for 30 minutes, then take it out, put it at room temperature for 1 hour, and repeat this process. The method was compared and observed three times with untested samples.

2. But at present, there are many inferior porcelain tableware made of melamine formaldehyde resin on the market. Urea-formaldehyde resin is a solution formed by urea and formaldehyde under alkaline or hydrolysis conditions, which releases formaldehyde gas and moisture. The stronger the acidity, the higher the temperature, the more serious the degree of hydrolysis, and the more formaldehyde gas is released, so the use of inferior tableware is harmful to the human body.

3. The normal use temperature of melamine tableware is about -30-120. It should be heated evenly during use and disinfection, and the steam disinfection time should not exceed 5 minutes. It is strictly forbidden to bake directly on the fire, avoid the use of microwave ovens and ovens; be careful to use strong chemical corrosive cleaners, such as disinfectant 84, because high concentrations will corrode the surface of the tableware and affect the service life of the tableware.

4. Although melamine tableware is non-toxic, melamine tableware is synthesized from formaldehyde and melamine. If they do not polymerize properly, melamine may remain on the dishes. Therefore, when consumers buy melamine tableware, they should buy well-known brands instead of inferior products at low prices.
